Implementing and Proving a Solution
The Systems Approach requires that the system be proved. In Systems Engineering this is called verification and validation. The following sections of this article briefly discuss the nature of system proving from a Systems Approach viewpoint . Any of the activities described below many need to be considered concurrently throughout the systems' life, as discussed in the Applying the Systems Approach topic.
Proving the System Overview
This topic covers both the sub-topics of verification and validation.
Verification
Verification is the determination that each element of the system meets the requirements of a documented specification (see principle of elements). Verification is performed at each level of the system hierarchy (see principle of grouping and System Analysis).
Validation
Validation is the determination that the entire system meets the needs of the stakeholders. Validation only occurs at the top level of the system hierarchy.
In a Systems Engineering context, (Wasson, 2006, pp. 691-709) provides a comprehensive guide to the methods of both system verification and system validation.

Article Discussion
Brian Wells comments:
I'm not sure why this article is needed. There is very little content and it primarily points to other articles on Verifcation and Validation. The word "Proving" is not a word that is commonly used in systems engineering, so it seems somewhat artificial to be introducing it when SEs usually use Verification and Validation directly.
The Systems Approach Primary Reference should be moved to the Systems Approach article, which has only Systems Thinking primary references.
